Storm season can be a scary time, especially when those storms have done damage to your home. Here are a few tips if you think your home has been damaged by a storm.

1. Walk around your home and look for damage.

You might see dents or holes in your siding, broken window wraps, broken glass, missing shingles, or shingle granules in your gutter.

2. Call your insurance company to report the claim

Don’t Delay! Most insurance policies limit your time to file a claim

3. Hire a trusted contractor to complete the work.

It might be tempting when someone just knocks on your door to give them the work, but it can be scary too. If you haven’t heard of the company it’s best to wait. Don’t trust your home to just anyone! Make sure they are licensed and have adequate insurance. Check their online reviews. Talk to your friends and family to get referrals. Look at the Angie's list and BBB . Are they a local company or did they just swoop in after the storm? Workmanship, Reviews, and customer service count - no matter who is paying the bill.
